What "Significant Improvement" Looks Like

Our clients typically rate their energy on a scale of 1 to 10 when they start, and again at milestones throughout the program. Here is what we commonly see:

Months 1-3: Replace Deficiencies

About 50% of clients notice a modest improvement during this phase. If your energy starts at a 4 out of 10, it may rise to a 5. Crashes may become less frequent. Sleep may begin to improve.

This is not the main event. It's the foundation.

Months 4-8: Open Pathways + Begin Removing the Toxic 5

This is where the real work begins. Progress during this phase can feel slow or inconsistent. Some clients feel worse temporarily as the body begins releasing stored toxins (known as a Herxheimer reaction). This is normal and expected, and our team helps you manage it.

Months 9-12+: Where the Shift Happens

For most clients, this is when the most noticeable improvement occurs. Energy levels that were stuck at 4-5 begin climbing to 7, 8, or higher. Brain fog lifts. Clients start returning to activities they hadn't been able to do in years: exercising, traveling, working full days, being present with their families.

Important: These are patterns, not promises. Every person's situation is different. The number of root causes you're dealing with, the severity of each one, your ability to implement the protocol consistently, and life factors like stress and environment all influence your timeline and results.


Why Some People Don't Get Better

We take it seriously when someone doesn't improve. Here are the most common reasons we've seen:

Ongoing environmental exposure

If you're living or working in a mold-affected environment and the source isn't addressed, removing mold toxins from your body is like bailing water from a boat with a hole in it. Mold remediation is outside the scope of our program, but we help you identify if this is a factor.

Significant supplement sensitivity

Some clients react to many supplements, which means the process of removing toxins and infections takes considerably longer. We work with this by going slower and adjusting the protocol, but it extends the timeline beyond 12 months.

Nervous system retraining needs more time

The nervous system component is foundational to recovery. For some clients, especially those with a history of trauma or prolonged illness, this piece requires more time and attention than the standard program provides.

Not reaching out for help

Our team guarantees a response within 2 business days. But we can only help if we know something isn't working. Some clients struggle silently, and by the time they speak up, they've lost momentum and trust in the process.

Stopping too soon

The most significant improvements typically happen around month 9. Clients who disengage at month 4 or 5 because they haven't yet seen dramatic changes may miss the turning point entirely. We understand the frustration, but this process genuinely takes time.

Financial strain

The ongoing cost of supplements and labs (approximately $500/month on average) can become a barrier, especially for people whose illness has already impacted their income. We try to minimize unnecessary spending, but this is a real challenge for some clients.

We don't have all the answers

Our method addresses approximately 99% of the known causes of ME/CFS and Long COVID. But these are conditions where the science is still evolving. Sometimes, despite doing everything right, a client doesn't improve, and we don't always know why. That weighs on us, and it drives us to keep learning and refining our approach.


What You May Have Read About Us Online

If you've searched for reviews of EnergyMD or Dr. Evan Hirsch, you may have found mixed feedback, including some negative experiences shared on Reddit and other forums. We want to address this directly.

The self-guided course and the full program are very different experiences

Our self-guided EnergyMD Course ($597) provides education and a framework, but it does not include personalized plans, live consultations, or direct access to our team. The full EnergyMD Program does, with a personalized protocol created by Dr. Hirsch, 1-on-1 coaching calls, group calls 3 times per month, daily community access with a guaranteed 2 business day response time, nervous system retraining, and weekly meditations. Some of the negative feedback online comes from clients who purchased the self-guided course and expected the level of support that comes with the full program.

Some feedback reflects earlier versions of our program

We have made significant changes to our program structure, support model, and client experience over the years. Feedback from 2-3 years ago may not reflect the current experience.

Not everyone will be a fit

We are upfront about the fact that this program requires a 12-month commitment, an investment of approximately $16,000 over that period (including labs and supplements), the ability to tolerate supplements, and the willingness to engage actively with the process. If those requirements don't align with your situation, we'd rather be honest about that upfront than have you invest in something that isn't right for you.
