How Long Does it Take to Resolve Long COVID? with Evan H. Hirsch, MD

00:00

So welcome back to the energy MD podcast where we help you resolve your long COVID and chronic fatigue syndrome naturally so that you can get back to living your best life. My name is Evan Hirsch and today we're going to be talking about how long it really takes to resolve your long COVID. So long COVID for those who aren't familiar is basically a persistence of symptoms that happened after you got a viral illness since 2020. So you may or may not have tested positive for COVID.

00:30

But the reality is that you had a viral illness since 2020 and that you ended up with persistent symptoms. Those symptoms may have started right after or when you got your viral illness and then those symptoms persisted or your symptoms might've gone away. You thought you were done with the cold or the virus. And then all of a sudden, a couple months later or a couple weeks later, you get all these weird symptoms. And so if you've gotten a weird symptom since 2020, you have to consider long COVID.

00:56

And that can be over 250 different symptoms, everything from heart palpitations, atrial fibrillation, Alzheimer's, there's all sorts of research on autoimmunity, ulcerative colitis, um everything from those diagnoses to having exhaustion, brain fog or cognitive issues, sleep issues, body pain, et cetera. Post-exertional malaise, POTS.

01:23

all these conditions can be caused by the COVID virus or the spike protein. So how long does it really take to get rid of long COVID? And so if you go, are some people who are able, who get long COVID and then it's self-limiting, which means that it just goes away on its own. Your immune system is able to recover and able to take care of the virus. But there are a lot of other people and these are, these are people that I see.

01:48

About 36 % of people in the recent study indicate that people who get that virus, they end up persist for longer than three months, which is essentially the diagnosis of long COVID. If you get those persistent symptoms for longer than three months. Okay. So it's about 36 % of everybody who's gotten the COVID virus ends up with these persistent symptoms. Some of them are mild loss and smell and taste, or maybe just a little bit of fatigue or brain fog. And some of them are really significant where people can't get out of bed, but regardless.

02:17

And depending on the severity of the COVID and the severity of the predisposing factors that we're going to get into in a moment, that really tells us how long it's going to take you to get over it. So if it's self-limited, maybe it's a couple of weeks or a couple of months, and then it kind of goes away on its own. If it's not, and it's really persisting, it could be because you have a number of predisposing factors. So I call these the toxic five, and this is a combination of heavy metals,

02:45

and chemicals and molds and infections and nervous system dysfunction or trauma that builds up in your body that has built up in your body over time. And then the COVID virus or the spike protein becomes the straw that breaks the camel's back. So when you have these different toxins, they and infections, they end up hijacking the immune system so that the virus comes into the body. The COVID virus comes into the body and goes deep into the body.

03:14

The immune system is not that line of defense that we really need. Normally the immune system would react strongly to that virus. Your nose runs, get fevers, chills, et cetera. But if you get those symptoms or you don't get them and they're really mild, which can indicate more of a chance of getting long COVID and those systems persist, that ends up becoming significant. And the reality is that the toxic five were present and they built up in your body over time.

03:43

and they hijacked your immune system so that the COVID virus could come in and take hold and cause all those different symptoms. So then it's more of a question of, it's not just about removing the virus and the spike protein, because there's plenty of people out there, I would imagine people listening, who have gone, tried to go directly at that by using the FLCCC protocols, taking ivermectin, taking hydroxychloroquine or a number of these other things, different supplements, vitamin C, quercetin, zinc, et cetera.

04:13

And some people will have success with that. And some people won't. If you haven't had success by doing that, it means that there are the toxic five that are present in predisposing factors at each one of those toxic five, the heavy metals, the chemicals, the molds, the infections, the nervous system dysfunction will take on their own, each one of them about six to 12 months to get out of your body. Now we end up layering things together. So it takes about six to 12 months all in. Once you have introduced those,

04:43

And we have a, we have a prep phase and then we have a treatment and a removal phase. So it takes people at least 12 months to resolve their long COVID in our program. Now, this might be really hard for somebody to hear who's just had long COVID for six months. So I would say come back and talk to me six months after this, because the reality is, that, you know, you didn't get long COVID in a day, even though it felt like that, like there was this instant switch.

05:10

The reality is, that for the last so many decades, including from the moment that you came out of your mother's womb, because there's research to show that over 300 different chemicals are found in baby's core blood. So we're already coming out full of FOS, full of stuff, full of toxins, full of infections that has already been proven. And then they just accumulate throughout our lives. The immune system gets dysfunctional, mitochondria gets damaged. And then all of a sudden.

05:38

you have a straw that breaks the camel's back, some sort of trigger. And in this case, it's COVID. So that's been my experience is that it really takes that amount of time, about 12 months to get better. I just had a call yesterday with somebody who's interested in joining our program, who is from Australia. And we serve people in the U S in Canada, in Europe, and then Australia and New Zealand. And when we, when I was on, I had a call with him actually,

06:07

in a year and a half ago in February of 2024. And at that time he had been ill for three years. He had had long COVID and he was, and he wasn't ready to make that kind of commitment. You know, people think that it's unreasonable or some people think that it's unreasonable to commit 12 months to resolving this issue. But then when it's persisted for so much time and they feel like they've tried everything.

06:34

then they're ready to go through this process and they're ready to address the heavy metals, the chemicals, the molds, the infections and the nervous system dysfunction because I have never met anyone who has addressed all of these causes and didn't get better. Right? That's the Hill I'm going to die on. That's what I've seen. And that's why we have almost a hundred testimonials on our website because that is the truth. And so I'm not going to lie to you and tell you

07:00

It's going to take you six months to get better because that's not the reality of the situation. It's going to take you at least 12 months, which means that it may take 18 or 24 months. But the reality is, is that when you are addressing the toxic five, it's just a matter of time. And I've seen that time and time again after doing this for the last decade. The other thing that's important to note is that just because a laboratory test says that you don't have a particular cause does not mean that you don't have it because laboratory tests are imperfect.

07:30

When you're doing a urine test to look for heavy metals, chemicals, or molds, that urine test is really more of a test of your ability to excrete than it is a test of your total body burden. And so consequently, you may do that test and that test doesn't show anything and then you're not going to get treated for that cause. And yet you have a whole bunch of that cause that's keeping you sick. So I have found that it is better. It's better to use your time, energy, and money.

07:57

on just taking another supplement to treat that particular cause, then it is to rely on an imperfect laboratory test. I want to make sure when you join my program, we're addressing 99 % of the potential causes. We leave no stone unturned. You're just going to be that much more successful, right? If you have a possibility, we're addressing over 30 different causes in our program. When you have a possibility of having 30 different causes, what happens if you miss one of those causes? You're just not going to get completely better, right?

08:26

Regardless of whether we're talking about your health, we're talking about a problem at work or whatever that has multiple potential causes, if you miss a cause, you're not going to get better. Okay, so really important. And then when we're looking at infections and you're looking at a serology test, which is basically the immune system's reaction to a particular infection or a PCR test, which is a DNA test for the particular infection, it really depends on how intact is your immune system.

08:54

You know, if your immune system is functioning correctly, then the immune system will see this infection. If the infection is in the same place as the immune system. But guess what? When you have the toxic five and you have long COVID or chronic fatigue syndrome, you do not have an intact immune system. And so consequently you're asking a dysfunctional immune system to give you an accurate read on a test and it just doesn't happen. And with the PCR test, you're looking for the DNA of an infection. What if the infection is in your muscles?

09:23

If you're, and you're doing a blood test, you're not going to find it unless you're doing a biopsy of the muscle. What if it's in the fat? You'd have to do a biopsy of the fat. What's the, what if it's in the central nervous system? You'd have to do like a lumbar puncture and do the right testing to determine if that particular causes in there. So if you're just doing a blood test, you're just doing a urine test. It's not, you know, we don't have the best testing available. And so it was just better to go ahead and treat saves you time, energy, and money. How much money have you already spent on labs without success?

09:52

I heard the other day that somebody was going to see a functional medicine doctor and they were requiring $7,000 worth of labs just out of the gate. And I can guarantee that they're probably not testing for the toxic five. And if they are, those tests are going to be inaccurate. It's better to use that money, that time, that energy to go ahead and to, and to address all of them as you move through. Because the other thing too, is that they're all bound up together. The toxic five, the heavy metals, the chemicals, molds and infections all bound up.

10:22

in the in what I call the toxic matrix and when you start removing one of those the heavy metals guess what chemicals molds and infections are going to get released so you have to make sure that you have coverage on all of those as you move through this process so I hope that's helpful for today I hope that answers that question about how long it takes now the only shortcut that I know of is using a nicotine patch

10:48

And we do have that in our program, but it has to be introduced at a certain point. Once we have addressed a number of these different causes, once we have the fiber and lytic enzymes on board, that's when I found it, find it to be most effective, but the nicotine patch can kick the spike protein and other infections off of their receptor sites. And if everything is, is functioning correctly, or you have everything on board that you need in order to support that process, it can be incredibly supportive. So.

11:18

That is a potential shortcut, but it still needs to be done in the proper order. And so we don't really do it in the program until about six months in, because we find that's when people have the most amount of success. So I hope that's helpful for you. I hope that helps with the reality of the situation. And I know that it's hard. It's hard to think that, gosh, I got to do this for another 12 months, but you have to see this as a spiritual path. There is something that you are supposed to learn through this process.

11:47

You know, like if I hadn't had chronic fatigue syndrome, I would never have gotten into mindset, nervous system retraining, all those different things to improve my health, right? Ways of changing my biology, my physiology, my mental state, all these things that I have done in order to improve my health. And that's what you have to do as well. This is a wake up call. This is your body saying in your spirit saying, Hey, pay attention.

12:16

And it gives you an opportunity to go through this process and then be able to live your best life. Because then the other side of this, you're to be a very different person and your life is going to be very different. You're going be a lot more mindful and you are going to live the most special life ever. So I hope that's helpful. If it was, go ahead and click a link below. There's a couple of different options.
