The 4 Reasons Why Your Long Covid Symptoms are Getting Worse with Evan H. Hirsch, MD - #137
00:00
Hey there, Evan Hirsch here. Welcome back to the EnergyMD Podcast where we help you resolve your chronic fatigue, whether it's from long COVID or chronic fatigue syndrome, so that you can get back to living your best life. So today I'd like to talk about the four reasons why your long COVID symptoms are getting worse. So if you had long COVID, if you have long COVID, it basically means that you had the COVID virus and then persistent symptoms that have lasted for longer than a month.
00:34
Unfortunately, this is about 20 to 30% of the population of people who've had COVID, who are experiencing a persistent symptom of some sort. Now there's over 200 different symptoms that you can experience. For some people, it's heart palpitations. I just got off of a call with somebody in our program who has heart palpitations, heart irregularities, some tachycardia where their heart rate is increasing. There are
01:02
other symptoms like gastrointestinal symptoms, there could be headaches, migraines, et cetera, can be almost anywhere in the body. It really depends on where the spike protein goes. So the question is, why do symptoms get worse over time? Because people are trying a lot of different things and they're wondering why they're not getting better. And so the first reason is because as you, as the spike protein continues to persist in the body, it goes into different compartments.
01:31
So sometimes people will find that certain symptoms may improve, but then other symptoms are getting worse. And that has to do with where in the body the spike protein is or the virus is. And so if it's in the muscles, then you're going to get muscle pain. If it's in the brain or the blood flow to the brain, maybe the blood vessels, and it's compromising the flow to the brain, sometimes that can cause headaches or migraines. If it is in the lungs, then you're going to get a chronic cough.
02:01
or something like that. So that's the first thing. The second thing is that you might be exercising too much. So exercise is typically a panacea. So it is a universal cure for almost everything out there. And so a lot of people think that they can kind of push their way through or exercise their way through this problem. And the reality is, is that when you exercise, this is part of the reason why so many young people are experiencing long COVID.
02:31
is because, and so many athletes, are because they went back to exercise too soon. Like they thought they were done with their COVID infection. They were down for a week. Then they're like, okay, let me go back. They ran a couple miles and then all of a sudden now they can't get out of bed and it's been months to years. So you cannot push your way through this. The spike protein is in the mitochondria, which makes 70 to 90% of your energy and is found in every cell in the body, except for red blood cells.
03:00
And when you stress it by asking it to produce more energy, it just doesn't work. It's going to push you backwards, unfortunately, because of how the spike protein has taken over the production of the ATP or the energy that is in the mitochondria. Okay. And that goes for anything that's going to be too stressful on the body. For some people, intermittent fasting can be very helpful with autophagy and whatnot. But for other people,
03:29
intermittent fasting, other kinds of fasting, exercise. These can be stressful on the body. And consequently, when you have the spike protein and you have long COVID, your stress management abilities are compromised. So normally our stress is gonna be managed by the adrenal gland, which produces cortisol. And then some of the other hormones are gonna help it as well. But the reality is, is that when you are stressed out and when you have fatigue and some of these other symptoms of long COVID,
03:59
your stress management system, those hormones are deficient because they've kind of been wasted. They've been trying to put out the fire of long COVID now for months to years and they're done. And so consequently you can't deal with the stress. This is also, it's not just physical stressors but it can also be the mental emotional stressors. This is why you can feel overwhelmed by little small tasks or why it's hard for you to do the work that you used to do before.
04:28
Okay, so that's number two. Number three is that spike protein is a biofilm disruptor. So the biofilm is like this collagenous material that exists on the mucous membranes throughout the body. And inside that biofilm, there are infections that are hiding as well as toxins. And they're all kind of bound up together in what I call a toxic matrix. So the spike protein,
04:56
can break up that biofilm and release these infections and toxins into the bloodstream. So unfortunately, there's been studies to show, in one study there was 265,000 people that they followed where 35% of those people, six months after having a COVID infection, had a new mental health diagnosis. So that means major depressive disorder, a generalized anxiety disorder,
05:25
or even bipolar. Those are kind of the big ones that were found in the study. So that's from COVID. So was that from COVID itself, getting into the nerve tissue and changing the neurotransmitters, or was that from COVID causing biofilm disruption? So when COVID disrupts the biofilm, breaks up the biofilm, releases these toxins, there are certain symptoms that can present themselves. One of them are mental health. So anxiety to the point of panic attacks, depression to the point of suicidal thoughts,
05:56
sleep issues, chronic cough. Sometimes it's a spike protein, but sometimes it could be an infection called Babesia, which is considered the North American malaria. So it also increases the body's temperature and sometimes people have spontaneous sweating. Okay. Or if it releases something called Bartonella, an infection called Bartonella, you can get pain on the bottom of the feet, usually misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis or muscle pain throughout the body, usually misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia.
06:25
People can also have some sleep issues and then also a little bit of anxiety or depression. Can also be really cold, cold hands, cold feet. So that can be Bartonella. So you have to, sometimes it's the spike protein causing the symptoms and sometimes the spike protein is acting as a biofilm disruptor that is allowing the release of some of these other infections that are causing these symptoms. So number four.
06:51
is that the treatment that you're taking, unfortunately, is acting as a biofilm disruptor. So a lot of the treatments that are recommended, whether it's curcumin or natokinase or seropeptase or some of these other ones to kind of break up or microclots, deal with the microclots that happen with long COVID, they also are biofilm disruptors. So if you're getting very aggressive with some of those treatments, that can break up the biofilm and release these other infections.
07:21
or other treatments that are indiscriminate antimicrobials. So if you're taking ozone therapy or high dose IV vitamin C or hyperbaric oxygen therapy, these are all treatments that can kill infections. And so if you're killing the infections and you haven't gone through the correct preparation for the body, you're killing infections, spike protein, other infections that are in the body that predisposed you to getting long COVID.
07:51
And then consequently, you're going to feel worse because you can't get rid of these toxins out of the body. So I have a four-step process that I recommend that people go through that is really helpful for preparing the body appropriately. So we figure out the causes you have, we replace the deficiencies in adrenals and thyroid and mitochondria, et cetera, in order to give you a bit of a bump and improve your ability to tolerate the stress, the stress management in the system. And then...
08:19
We go into step three, where you open up the exit pathways to have a pathway for the toxins to get out. And then we go into step four and we remove the toxins, not just the spike protein, but the reasons why you got predisposed to long COVID in the first place. This is what I call the toxic five, a combination of heavy metals, chemicals, molds, infections, and nervous system dysfunction. So everybody that I see who has long COVID and chronic fatigue syndrome,
08:48
They have all of these toxic five and all of them need to be addressed in order for them to get better. Okay, so you have to be careful the treatments that you're taking because they may be making you worse. So those are the four steps. I hope this was really helpful for you. If you are interested in hearing what we have to offer, you can click on the links below. We just released a brand new masterclass that kind of goes into the four step process more in depth.

my philosophy, how we do things, how we help people. So definitely click on that link below and check that out. All right, have an amazing day. And don't forget that you will get through this. I know it's been really hard for you, but you have to keep making progress. You have to keep moving forward and you need to keep asking yourself empowering questions. One of the big things we work on in our program is the mindset and the nervous system retraining.
09:45
and you have to remember that you are going to get there and that every day ask yourself a powerful question like, how can I love myself more today? Or what is one thing that I can do today to move my health forward? You know, if you're not addressing the toxic five, that would be what I was looking for. That's what I would be looking for is, how can I address my toxic five more today? And if you want our help in doing that, just reach out, happy to do so. All right, have an amazing day and be well.
